Thank you for your interest. I offer many digital products and services through New Light Productions. Please contact me if you are interested. I will be happy to work with you to accomplish creative solutions that work for you.

Please email me for any further information you may require. If you know of someone who might be interested in my abilities or my artwork, please refer them to this site.

I have a fully professional videotape demo available upon request.

I have been working in Television production for nearly 30 years doing everything from studio and location camerawork to directing many kinds of programs, including live newscasts. Today, I mostly do commercial work, and my current position is Senior Producer/Director at Time Warner Cable in Austin, Texas. There, I do commercials for local and regional clients, and work with ad agencies on spots including high budget national campaigns.

Recently, I completed a series of film commercials for a pre-paid telephone company which are airing across the U.S. and Canada.

I work with Macintosh systems running Media100i editing, After Effects, Photoshop, and many other software tools including 2D and 3D animation and compositing tools. My most recent involvment has been with Lightwave 3D animation software.

I believe in using many tools in concert with one another to achieve the desired effect, thus taking an ecclectic, multi-level, multi-task approach to digital graphics production. I love to take rough ideas and bits and pieces of a project and synchronize them to produce a finished piece that sings and moves. When that comes out of a true professionalism, depth of experience, and knowledge it can seem magical. That's the joy I experience in my work.

I have also made a point to keep a perspective on digital artwork by keeping a hand in real-world (analog?) art. I do some drawing such as the cartoons of Blimnod's World .

... and I also do pyrography (that's woodburning) on natural gourds and other wood surfaces. Here are a few of my recent gourds:

These are natural dried gourds. I hand draw the artwork, delicately woodburn the designs, then use leather dyes and other tinting mediums such as colored pencil to achieve the colors. A final series of varnishes seals the artwork and brings a beautiful depth to the colors.

The gourds you see here are about 12 inches in diameter.

If you like my work, I am available to do commissioned pieces (on gourds or other wood media). I would love to create a special art piece just for you!
